About Jennifer Samson

Jennifer is a Senior Director, Special Projects at Metro. As an executive focused on technology, customer success, community-driven development and innovative urban solutions, she brings hands-on experience transforming ambitious civic visions into reality.

At River LA, she led the development of Los Angeles' first non-motorized, cable-stayed bridge, successfully securing millions in Active Transportation Program grants and public funding to enhance urban mobility and connectivity. During her tenure at Thomas Safran & Associates, she managed the development of three transformative apartment communities, creating hundreds of affordable housing units across Los Angeles. This work required deep expertise in tax credit financing and public-private partnerships, demonstrating an ability to navigate complex funding landscapes while delivering meaningful community impact.

Her commitment to urban innovation extends beyond professional roles through board service with organizations reimagining Los Angeles' future. As an inaugural board member of San Vicente Park, she's helping shape the vision for a 3.2-mile linear park that will transform central Los Angeles. Previous board positions with LA Mas and Gay for Good have deepened her understanding of community-centered development and inclusive city-building.

She's particularly energized by opportunities where operational excellence drives social impact—whether that's expanding housing accessibility, advancing sustainable mobility, or creating vibrant public spaces. Her experience in regulated industries and work with emerging AI technologies positions her to help organizations scale effectively while navigating complex market dynamics and stakeholder relationships.
